Winter Weather Closure Notices

Winter weather closure notices will be issued based upon TCEQ regulations concerning inclement weather. The standard we have developed is based on the safe handling of chemicals. Texas Commission on Environmental Quality requires a plan for inclement weather, however they neither define nor suggest a plan for these types of events. Our policy is that when there is ice, excessive cool or heat, wind gust in excess of 30 mph, lightning strikes within a mile, or other events that could provide for an unsafe condition we will close. We apologize for the inconvenience this may cause.

It is better for a facility, such as ours, to close then to take a chance on having a spill or release. Anytime there is an adverse/inclement weather event the chances for human error rises. We have never had a reportable incident at our facility. Our parent company PA-jer Company has an excellent track record since they opened of never being cited for any safety issue. We have never had any DOT, EPA, OSHA, or TCEQ issues.

We are the only privately owned facility in the state of Texas, this means that unlike other county or city owned facilities we are under more scrutiny. We are also not provided the same immunity from lawsuits that government entities are. If you have any questions please call us at 512-864-3240 or contact us through our contact page. Thank you for your understanding and patience.

Sincerely,
Williamson County Recycle Center
