Where to take old paint? Williamson County Recycle Center takes old paint and we actively advertises in Bell, Burnet, Milam, Travis and Williamson Counties. These counties we selected in our operations plan in 2006 with the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality. In Williamson County we see many people in Cedar Park, Round Rock, Leander, Liberty Hill, and other communities without a voucher program all asking “Where to take paint”? We take paint! We also have citizens in Georgetown and Hutto that use our facility via their cities voucher programs. We are happy to provide an option that is open Thursday and Friday 08:00 A.M. till 5:00 P.M. and on Saturdays 08:00 till noon.
Voucher programs allow citizens to use our facility without paying or only paying limited amounts. Different from one day events, this allows for a safer collection event and less time spent waiting in long lines. Typical wait time at our facility is less than 15 minutes, whereas with one day events you may wait as much as three hours. Material is also less likely to have a negative impact on the environment due to accidents, spills, or other releases of material. How often has your community held a one day event, when you missed it?
Georgetown Voucher Program
The vouchers, available to residential utility customers with active accounts, replace the annual collection days sponsored by the City in the past. You may pick up a voucher in-person at the Utility Billing office located in the Georgetown Municipal Complex at 300-1 Industrial Avenue, or at the Collection Station located at 250 W.L. Walden Drive. Please bring a recent City of Georgetown utility bill and a photo ID.
