Friday, April 10, 2015 we will be closed to attend the funeral of a great man who passed away. His name is Elvis Kersh from Tyler Texas. Mr. Kersh was a Korean War Veteran, a Mason, member of the Baptist Church and a man of a thousand sayings. Growing up he would tell me when I asked where him and dad were going to either “Follow your nose” or “Down the road and around the corner”. He gave me my first pig and lots of wisdom over the course of the years.
Mr. Kersh was Dad’s – Jerry Tidwell – best friend in life. Most weeks they would speak at least once and if one had a problem or needed something the other was always there. They were inseparable when both were in town. They would go to auctions, both estates and livestock, drive around looking at property and remembering years gone by, and they talked about everything. The wisdom you received being in the truck was unsurpassed.
Mr. Kersh was a man who lived his life honorably. He was always there for people, both for wisdom and if you needed a helping hand. He was part of the lost generation that we should emulate. Please keep his family in your thoughts and prayers.
Thank you for understanding and we look forward to seeing you today, Saturday, and in the future. We apologize for the inconvenience of closing on Friday, April 10, 2015
